Effective Speaking activity

Objective: to have your students practicing their speaking functions.

Teach your lesson as usual. Practice the written form.  Make sure your students have the structure clear by asking clarification questions. Have students been ready with  a question, which they have to use during the practice (e.g. What were you doing when I called you yesterday? When the class is ready explain the following steps.

I. Stand up and form two lines. Every student must be facing another student. 

II. Students must take turns asking and listening to their classmates answers.
III. Monitor the activity. Listen and give a few time to ask and answer.
IV. When both students have asked, give a signal to switch partners.
V. Repeat the dynamic until students have settled the question form.
